Marketing can be traced to the early days of trade by barter adopted centuries before now. Since there was no legal tender at the time, goods had to be exchanged in order to make a win-win situation for the people that were involved in the barter process. The interesting world of marketing has taken a lot of dimensions ever since but what is marketing? Simply put, it is the identification of needs and wants of consumers and providing products that meet the consumers’ needs. It would not be out of place to say that the issue of marketing has and will continue to remain an important aspect of our lives. Businesses would not have gone underground if not for some form of marketing or the other. The true and unbreakable business model states that for any organization to survive in a tough business environment, money coming into the organization (account receivables) should exceed the money going out of the organization (amount payables). It is therefore in the interest of every employee to ensure that money comes into the organization. |

There has been an increased need for professionals in Nigeria to pay more attention to their health needs as recent deaths among individuals have revealed the impact of poor dietary practices. Over the last decade, there has been a geometric increase in diabetes, cancer and other lifestyle related illnesses in Nigeria. This should hardly be the case because Nigeria is a country where most food consumed is made from scratch, and few additives are added to our natural home grown crops before they are cooked or processed for sale as ‘ready to eat foods’. It is evident that these diseases which have grown tremendously in the past few decades do not respect anyone as top executives and other professionals have died through these ailments. |

It’s been a long and rather tiring week. I read a lot about the focus and lessons around the life and habits of locusts all the week. It was quite exciting and eye opening. I had thought I will write about the ‘’Lifestyle of Locusts’’ this week. You might be wondering what is there to learn from the lifestyle of locusts.
For the first time in about five years, I had to travel from Lagos to Ekiti by road. The experience on the road brought to mind the theme of my write up for the week. Giving you the edge. I hope you realize early that being a top notch professional is about being sharp and always at the right places with brilliant ideas all the time. I mean all the time. Everyday counts and it’s important your mind, concentration level and chain of thoughts are alert and composed.
The morning is as important as the remaining part of the day. As a professional; you have to see each day like a sprint, therefore, the way you start the day is critical. So what are those things you can do to start your day and stay in shape professionally? They are quite simple. |
